Mobility Assistance

The Park Champions volunteer team has been delivering the Park’s Mobility service to the public since 2014 making the Park accessible to everyone. The service has opened up the Park to tens of thousands of visitors.

The current service consists of the hire of manual wheelchairs and mobility scooters as well as free access to an 8-seater ‘golf’ buggy.
The service is currently available seven days a week, 11am-4pm.

Customers are strongly advised to pre-book our Mobility Service by calling 0800 0722 110 and quoting ‘Park Mobility’.

Wheelchair Hire

We have five standard size manual wheelchairs available for hire on the Park as well as one children’s wheelchair and one larger/bariatric wheelchair.
These can be collected and returned to the Information Point. Customers will be required to provide valid ID (driver’s license, passport or a utility bill dated from the last three months) and agree to our terms and conditions of hire.

Manual wheelchairs are charged at £3 per hire – this is an all-day charge (until 4pm). Please note that we accept cashless payment only.

Scooter hire

We have seven ‘Pride Colt Plus’ mobility scooters available for hire on the Park. These can be collected and returned to the Information Point.
Customers are required to provide valid ID (driver’s license, passport or a utility bill dated from the last three months) and agree to our terms and conditions of hire as well as receive some basic training to operate the scooter safely.

Scooters are charged at £5 per hire – this is an all-day charge (until 4pm).  Please note that we accept cashless payment only.

Golf buggy hire

We have an electric mobility ‘golf’ buggy which can accommodate up to six passengers per trip.
The buggy is driven by our Park Champion volunteers. This service is free of charge for visitors with mobility needs and one companion (when appropriate). Subject to availability, family members and friends will be able to travel alongside but should be prepared to walk if the service is in high demand.
On operational days when there are no special events on the Park, the mobility buggy leaves the Information Point at 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm and runs on a circular route around the whole Park passing each of the major venues.
Passengers can either stay on board for the duration of the trip or be dropped off at Park venues on request.

Please Note: for passengers choosing to get off the buggy, return spaces will be subject to availability.

Volunteer 'Sighted' Guides

For visitors with visual impairment, our Park Champion Volunteers can assist, support and guide around the Park as required for up to two-hour slots,
The service is free of charge, visitors can arrange to meet a Park Champion at the Information Point.
This service is dependent on having volunteers available who have received the appropriate sighted guide training, provided by Guide Dogs UK. We, therefore, recommend that you book this service as early in advance as possible to ensure a suitably trained volunteer is available on the day of your visit.
